Here’s a summary of what you can expect on your first visit:

Arrive at Memorial Congregational Church

We’re located at 26 Concord Road in Sudbury, across from the Goodnow Library. You can park in the main lot behind the church (off of Church Street). Arriving about 10 minutes early gives us a chance to welcome you and help you get oriented.

Come On In

Enter through the double glass doors and go down the stairs. Inside you’ll find friendly greeters who will point you towards the sanctuary, childcare spaces, restrooms, and fellowship areas. Most parts of the building are accessible, with the exception of the lower school wing.

Be Welcomed

Greeters will meet you at the sanctuary entrance to offer a bulletin and answer any questions. If the service has begun, slip in whenever you feel comfortable. Hymnals and Bibles are in the pews, and the bulletin will guide you through the service.

Enjoy Worship

Our hope is that you leave feeling grounded, encouraged, and reminded of how deeply you are loved. Expect music, prayer, scripture, and preaching that connects faith with real life — plus a community eager to welcome you as you are.

Frequently Asked Questions

When are worship services?

Worship is held every Sunday at 10:00 a.m., both in-person and online. Each service is a chance to explore faith, connect with others, and seek God’s presence together.

What are your worship services like?

Our worship follows a traditional liturgy with a warm, informal feel. You can expect prayer, scripture, music, and preaching that connects faith with real life, along with moments of community sharing and reflection.

What should I wear?

Whatever makes you comfortable. Shorts or suit, dress up or dress down — come as you are!

Is childcare available?

Yes. Childcare and youth programming are offered every Sunday morning. Children are also welcome to stay in worship with their families — wiggles and giggles included.

How does MCC handle inclusive language?

We honor the diversity of our community and strive to reflect it in worship. You are welcome to substitute any gendered or non-gendered language in prayers, hymns, or any part of worship.

Where are the restrooms?

Restrooms are located in the hallway leading toward the Sunday School wing. Accessible, gender-neutral, and family restrooms with changing tables are available.

Is the church accessible?

Yes. All areas of the building are universally accessible. The Sunday School wing can also be reached with portable ramps available on site.

What if I’ve never been to church before?

You’re in good company. Sunday morning is meant to be joyful, relaxed, and welcoming. We pray, sing, listen, and support one another — and you’re free to join in as you feel comfortable.

What if my background is from a different tradition?

Many MCC members come from a wide range of traditions. You’ll find familiar elements — scripture, hymns, sermons, communion — alongside an openness to questions, exploration, and honest conversation.

Do I have to believe a certain thing to attend?

No. We believe each person is invited to discover God on their own terms. Sermons are offered as reflections, not directives, and disagreement is welcome.

Who runs the church?

MCC is a self-governing congregation. As part of the United Church of Christ, we value local autonomy; the national denomination supports us but does not direct our decisions.

How does communion work?

We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of each month and on special occasions. We use baked bread, gluten-free wafers, and grape juice. Everyone — without exception — is welcome at the table.
